Smallest Majority is a theatre company created by three Chichester University graduates: Billie, James and Lovissa.

Formed from a shared feeling of fear and disgust at the world we live in, and held together with a passion for change.

We make politically driven theatre centred on the deconstruction of event.

We make mess, we make puns, we make playful and dark performance.

Billie Mears

Billie is a young artist that loves making music, all things Marvel,  and still hasn't gotten over High School Musical. Her work is politically driven, humourous, and usually features a dark undertone. She shows a particular interest in the female and the representation of gender within her own works, however, Billie is interested in many areas within the arts including movement, performance, directing, devising, script writing and choreography. Billie is currently studying  at the University of Sussex as a post grad.

James harris

James’ work is usually movement based however he has also explored text in previous works. James is particularly interested in issues concerning labels and sexuality. For example his piece ‘Ritalin Not Included’ explores issues of prejudice that stems from being labelled with a disorder. His style of work looks upon using autobiographical events as stimulus to create performances that are meaningful and intimate. James has also written and directed a piece of movement based theatre, that touches upon the issues of technology consuming the consumer. James is one of the artistic directors in Smallest Majority, one of his main roles in the company is sourcing and choreographing movement for the upcoming shows.

Lovissa webber

Lovissa loves all visual art forms and is inspired by great cinematography as well as the beauty of the natural world. Lovissas' work is usually satirical and metaphorical, showing themes of feminism, mental health, and love. She is particularly interested in making work that relates to her identity as a lesbian and her journey with depression. Mainly a performer, Lovissa is also interested in devising, choreography, music, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
